With that in mind, what better way to start your holiday than taking coffee in Milano a la Margot Tenenbaum? Yes, for those who marvel at the fantastical, beautiful and oh so quirky world of Wes Anderson, your dreams have just come true. You can actually sit inside a cafe that looks like one of Wes’s sets.

Bar Luce, sits inside the Fondazione Prada in Milan. Taking cues from traditional Milanese architecture, such as Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle, the architecturally patterned walls are punctuated with furniture in gelato pastel hues so reminiscent of many an Anderson film. A Terrazzo floor, wood panelling and a touch of formica complete the look.

If you are a fan of Wes’s ‘The Life Aquatic’, you might remember the pastel coloured pinball machines and the old jukebox….. ringing a bell? …..well they are here too, so you see, you ARE actually IN, a Wes Anderson film - sort of!

And as if all that were not exciting enough, venture out of the cafe into the Fondazione building itself, and you may come across a haunted house covered in 24 carat gold leaf. Stranger than fiction? Maybe, but who wants to be ordinary? Margot certainly doesn’t and neither do you I’m guessing!

Bar Luca can be located inside the Fondazione Prada at:
