MELLER Vision

 MELLER are a Barcelona - based eyewear brand founded in 2014 that has arrived at its tenth anniversary with an ever-increasing number of international wearers and a constantly evolving design template which is underpinned by an environmental intentionality.

 

Designing eyewear that thrills the eye and that is optically proven, MELLER sunglasses meld fashion with functionality. Key to the brands ascent in a highly competitive market has been an eyewear aesthetic that melds a fashion forward sensibility with an appreciation of iconic retro styles to create designs that are both timeless and achingly contemporary. That enduring style is enhanced by a durable design which sees the glasses equipped with a UV400 protective and polarized filter, anti-scratch coating and an improved resistance to heat and moisture.

 

That durability is part of a staunchly sustainable ethos which manifests itself through a brand commitment to drive both social and environmental change. It’s an ethical intentionality which manifests itself in the label's planet-friendly Bio-based collection. They feature frames made with 45% natural resources and are an alternative to their standard line. Additionally, their "I Used To Be A Bottle” collection introduces glasses manufactured from 60% recycled bottle plastic and 40% recycled PETG plastic; while the imprints most recent innovation, handmade bio-acetate glasses, are crafted from natural and renewable resources, contributing to a cleaner atmosphere, water and soil environment. MELLER’s globally conscious social-minded values are further emphasized by the eyewear's packaging with each pair of glasses arriving in a case made of PET, a non-toxic and 100% recyclable raw material, with the outer packaging made from paper and cardboard from certified forest fibers.

 
 

Creating eyewear using conscious materials and delivering on both style and longevity MELLER has also benefited from an ironic and self- deprecating advertising strategy which has seen the label partner with cultural taste makers such as Annie Brooks (@sausagelord) to promote the eyewear in a highly humourous and whimsical manner.
