Iconic Capsule

At London Fashion Week AW20 we brought you looks from the MM6 runway show featuring the collaboration between MM6 Maison Margiela and outerwear specialists The North Face. This collection fuses the technical exceptionalism and functionality of the former with the design mastery of the latter. Focusing on The North Face's Expedition System, with its detachable layered pieces for extreme conditions, the silhouettes played on the signature circular logo of MM6.

As with many pieces for both brands, there are interchangeable modular designs that extend the protective qualities of the garments. With a base colour of the iconic black shoulder design, MM6 brightened the palette with cobalt blue, violet, bottle green and sun yellow.

The capsule collection sees technical precision and functionality of The North Face’s original design meet the conceptual prowess of the Maison.

With an eye on the environment, the Himalayan Coat, Mountain Kaban and Nuptse puffer are all created using recycled down. Many of the pieces feature advanced triple-zips for adjustable sleeves and arms with garments zipping directly onto the Kaban Jacket.

Accessories include adaptable functionality and transformative qualities, like the Nuptse scarf with dual pockets and a loop fastening system that renders it a garment in itself and the circular backpacks that mirror the Base Camp Duffel.

Some of us are currently dreaming of snow-dusted destinations whilst sheltering at home in second lockdowns. Some of us in more remote areas can escape. Whether you are an explorer of wild terrain or urban landscapes, MM6 | The North Face AW20 collection will bring covetable distinction and performance.
